When I was 21 years old in 2016 I worked at a supermarket chain where my two supervisors were always talking about the gym and other “gym-bro” stuff. When they asked me to come train just once I unknowingly made a decision that would change my life. I was addicted immediately. So much in fact that even after spending hours watching YouTube videos and bodybuilding blogs I still wanted to learn more.
I turned my whole career around. Quit my study of International business and my job in the supermarket to study Sports science. I had my goals and plans ready before school had started! In my third year I learned about powerlifting and the community that surrounds it that shows compassion towards one another on a level that I have never seen before. I knew this would be my future from day 1.
After a two year internship at a powerlifting gym, I decided to start my own coaching company. My main goal was to find people with potential for long term development and offer them guidance at a level that requires true dedication. I also came into contact with Reformance training where I work as an online coach with international athletes all over the world.
My goal will never be to become rich or become the biggest coaching company there is. I want to find people that deserve a full hands on coaching experience and are willing to put in whatever it takes to get to a level they never imagined they could reach.
My Approach
How I turned an old school style of coaching into a modern scientific twist.
Old school
We all know and love them. Those old school guys who would throw each other around to hype each other up. Who would simply just walk up to a barbell and start squatting. Who needs a warm-up?
Being trained by an old school coach myself has taught me two major things. The first is that you can study all the research and programs you want, but observing, talking and training with athletes with 30+ years experience will teach you far more. Even for one session.
The second thing: your mental limits hold you back more than your strength. Every athlete can use the occasional ‘shut the fuck up and get under the bar’. Or all of a sudden hear: ‘ONE MORE!’. Because your coach sees your technique is perfect and you have some more left in you.
You are capable of more than you know. So shut up, and give me 3 more reps.
Science & mobility
Having my bachelor degree in sports science and a hyper focus has made me passionate about everything to do with improving someone’s strength and technique. In my free time I study PubMed or the latest issue of MASS to always be up to date with the latest research. If I come across an issue with an athlete that I cannot fix on the spot, you can be assured I will know the next time.
One thing I always found lacking was peoples understanding of the importance of mobility. When starting with a new client I will always do a mobility evaluation of your technique. Maybe you could not perfect that squat depth due to an issue you were not even aware of.
Mixing science and experience I will develop an unique method for you to reach those goals you dreamed of.
